Wood is also a good addition to a tank and is vital if you want to keep suckermouth catfish as they will supplement their diet with wood. If you are going to buy a piece of wood it is best to leave the wood in a bcket of water overnight, then pour the water away and refill, repeat this process until the water stops going brown, this means that your tank water will not go brown.
