Koi |
We stock an extremely varied range of koi.
From 2-3" ghost koi, all the way to 22" Koi carp. Koi
are a fantastic addition to larger ponds. Preferring a pond depth
of at least 3 feet to ensure they over winter comfortably. They
provide grace and elegance with striking colours and endearing
characters. These gentle giants can be tamed to hand feed and
will provide their owners with years of enjoyment. Koi are much
better suited to medium and large ponds only. |

Golden
Orfe |
Golden Orfe are one of our favourites. Being active
surface dwelling fish you will get to see them all year round.
They are always keen to feed and although not tamable like koi,
they mellow with age. These fish are very deep bodied, a fact
very visible as they mature. These are very hardy fish and thrive
in ponds with waterfalls, streams or fountains as they enjoy
highly oxygenated ponds. Also available in a blue form from time
to time. Due to their size we recommend them to medium and large
ponds primarily. |
 |
Golden Tench |
Golden Tench are a colour morph of the native, Green
Tench. They are much more visible in the pond than their green
relative and provide a very useful service within the pond. Aside
from looking lovely they are bottom dwelling, bottom feeding
fish. So any food which messy feeders such as koi allow to sink
to the bottom will be cleaned up by your tench. They should not
be expected to simply scavenge off leftovers and a suitable,
sinking pellet should always be given to supplement the diet
of tench. Of course sinking pellets are available in store. Suitable
for small, medium and large ponds. |

Goldfish |
Goldfish have been the most popular pond fish for many
years. Available in red or lemon they add colour and movement
to any pond. They are by far the hardiest of any fish we sell
and are prolific breeders in most ponds. Growing to between 10
and 12" if given the space they will live for, on average
10 years if cared for correctly. We recommend pond sticks or
small 2-4mm pellets to feed you goldfish on. We sell goldfish
from 2" long up to 6" with larger sizes available at
different times of the year. Goldfish love a well planted pond
so why not take advantage of our five for £16.99 pond plant
deal. |
 |
Shubunkin |
These are a variety of fish descended from the goldfish.
Their brilliant blue colouring is a stark contrast to goldfish
and Sarasa Comets. Like goldfish they do best on pond sticks
or 2-4mm pellets. Shubunkin look particularly striking in formal
pools with low planting levels. This shows the marvelous blue
hue to its best. Like goldfish they regularly spawn in the pond
and produce many small black fry which colour up usually by the
end of summer or at th beggining of the following spring. We
very much recommend them for smaller to medium sized ponds |
 |
Sarasa
Comet |
Another fish closely related to the goldfish. Sarasa's
have varying amounts of white patches on the body of the fish.
Usually Sarasa's have a longer tail and prettier fins that goldfish
too. Like goldfish they do best on pond sticks or 2-4mm pellets.
Like goldfish they thrive in planted ponds. Like both the goldfish
and shubunkin they breed with regular occurrence. We very much
recommend them for smaller to medium sized ponds. |

Grass Carp |
Grass carp will eat anything green in your pond, this
ranges from duckweed to blanketweed and also your favourite water
lilly. Not the best choice if you are trying to grow amazing
plants but otherwise a stunning fish. Will grow to 3-4' in length
so only suited to a large pond. |
 |
Sturgeon |
A stunning fish native to Siberia can grow to up to
8' very peaceful, bottom feeding fish. |
